About Allan

Background

I am a product designer with over 13 years of experience across fintech, banking, and platform products. My work has evolved from designing customer-facing experiences to tackling more complex, system-level problems, where multiple stakeholders, constraints, and workflows need to come together in a clear and usable way.

Current Work

In my current role at OKX, I work across both operational systems and end-user products. On the operational side, I designed multi-user AML case management workflows that support collaboration, auditability, and structured decision-making across compliance teams. This involved translating policy, risk logic, and operational processes into interfaces that make complex investigations easier to navigate and act on.

On the customer side, I led design for P2P Express Buy, focusing on improving conversion, trust, and transaction completion in a high-friction environment, balancing user needs with platform safety.

UOB Experience

Prior to that, I spent four years at UOB across both Product Designer and Design Lead roles. I worked on the TMRW digital banking app across payments, transfers, and wealth products, including rethinking key parts of the dashboard and everyday money flows such as PayNow and fund transfers.

I was also involved in shaping broader experiences like the City of TMRW, a gamified savings feature designed to encourage better financial habits through engagement and behavioural design. As a Design Lead, I contributed to scaling design practices across teams and worked closely with stakeholders to align product direction.

How I Work

Over time, I have found myself drawn to problem spaces that are less defined and more interconnected. I am comfortable working across multiple user roles, navigating ambiguity, and structuring end-to-end workflows that span product, operations, and policy.

Rather than focusing only on individual screens, I tend to focus on how decisions are made, how information flows, and how systems behave as a whole.

What I Care About

At the core, I care about making complex things feel clear. I believe good design reduces ambiguity, supports better decisions, and holds up even in edge cases and real-world scenarios.

I take ownership of the work end to end, from early problem framing to shipped outcomes, and I value working closely with cross-functional teams to get there.

Looking Ahead

I am particularly interested in teams working on complex systems, fintech, and AI-enabled products, where design has the opportunity to shape not just the interface, but how the product works at a deeper level.
